Virginia Mae (Kowar) Bonola, 75 of New Britain, passed away on September 16, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. She lived in New Britain all her life and graduated New Britain High School in 1956. She worked at Central Connecticut State University as an administrative assistant and also worked for the New Britain Public Works. She was a lifetime member of the Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church. Virginia and Bruno just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in June. She had a strong faith in God, loved cooking and had a great sense of humor. Besides her husband Bruno Bonola, she leaves her sons, James Bonola and his wife Larisa of Cibolo, TX; David Bonola of New Britain and her daughter Lisa Bonola and her partner Domenic Testa also from New Britain, her brother Joseph Kowar and his wife Dorothy, of New Britain, her two sisters Florence Dickman, and Rosemary Sabatella and her husband Francis, all of Southington. Virginia leaves two granddaughters Rebecca and Savanna, who will miss her dearly. She is predeceased by her parents Anna and Joseph Kowar, sisters; Anna Kowar, Pauline Mindek, Carol Petruska, Frances Wisk and a brother Theodore Kowar. Virginia also leaves many nieces and nephews to mourn her passing.
