Virginia “Blondie” Livsey, 93, of Barry, died Saturday, April 1, 2017, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.
She was born November 2, 1923, in Meredosia, the daughter of Russell Wilbur and Anna Mary Icke Scott. She married Emmitt Sutterfield and he preceded her in death. She later married Clarence Livsey and he also preceded her in death.
She is survived by three children, Ernest (Sharon) Sutterfield of Beardstown, Patricia Revis of Barry, and Paul Sutterfield of Gulfport, MS; six grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; and three sisters, Bernice Allen of Meredosia, Pauline (Larry) Belleville of Beardstown, and Mary Catherine (Lou) Miller of Jerseyville. She was preceded in death by one son, Russell Sutterfield (surviving wife Debra of Texas); and two brothers, Bob Scott, and Kenneth Scott, Sr.
Mrs. Livsey was a nurse at Jersey Community Hospital in Jerseyville for many years. Prior to that she had worked at nursing homes in Beardstown and Jerseyville. After retirement, she provided home healthcare for several years. She was a member of Gospel Assembly Church in Jerseyville for many years. Blondie liked to sing and loved to take care of other people. She enjoyed shopping and loved being with her sisters.
