Virginia Rose Day Blackwell, age 89, of Birmingham, AL passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2015. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Rose was a long-time member of Lake Highland Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Hewitt Trussville High School. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ersler and Isaac Day, her sister, Pearl Day Rhodes and her loving husband of 63 years, Realious “R.H.” Hoyt Blackwell. She is survived by her daughter, Belinda Blackwell Sanders (Jimmy); son, Kevin Hoyt Blackwell (Marsha); grandchildren: Brody (Amy) and Macey Sanders and Josh and Rachel Blackwell; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
