Virginia B. Crouse, 84, of South Jacksonville, IL passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at her home.
She was born May 28, 1930 in Prentice, IL, the daughter of John and Mattie Grant Rigney.
She is survived by four children, Deb Crouse Zimmer and Gregory Crouse, both of South Jacksonville, Scott Crouse of St. Louis, MO, and Christopher Crouse (companion, Brett Smith) of Atlanta, GA; four grandchildren, Kyle Zimmer of San Antonio, TX, Dana Blakeman (husband, Ryan) of Jacksonville, Miranda Crouse of Bluffs, and Ryan Michael Crouse of Jacksonville; four great grandchildren; her former husband and father of her children, Clarence Crouse Jr. of Jacksonville; a sister, Mary Fernandes of Jacksonville; two brothers, Johnny Rigney of Columbia, KY and Edward Rigney of Elizabethton, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Mike Crouse (surviving wife, JeanAnn of Bluffs); and two siblings, Clara Buchanan and Bill Rigney.
A graduate of Ashland High School, Virginia was employed at Capitol Records and later at the Illinois School for the Deaf. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, walking, bicycling, travel, and just being outdoors.
