Virginia passed away, June 2, 2014, at a Temple hospital. She was born June 6, 1925, in Temple, Texas, the daughter of Doyle Northen and Loreen (Owens) Northen. She married her husband, Garnett T. Frazier July 29, 1941 in Belton.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Belton where she was the Adult Women’s Sunday School Teacher and was a Honor Graduate of Temple College and Texas State where she received her Master’s Degree. She was a Founder and Director of the Computer Science Department for 27 years until retirement. Virginia was a member of the Temple/Bell Retired Teachers Association, National Retired Teachers Association, Temple Amateur Radio Club, the Betty Martin Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Order of the Eastern Star, and was a Dorm Director and Counselor for Southwestern State University.
She also received 106 post graduate hours from Fort Collins University in Colorado because they had the only computer program at the time. She founded the first student charter of the Data Processing Management Association. Virginia is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two sisters, Frances Young and Margarette Freeman.
She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Ann Frazier Scott and husband Danny; one brother, Tom Northen; two grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.
