JONES, VIRGINIA ADEL WALDNER, died peacefully at home in Pewee Valley, KY in the early morning of Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at the age of 99.
She was born to Tillie Samuels Waldner and George Alexander Waldner on August 13, 1912. She graduated from Louisville Girls High School in 1930. After graduation, she tested Monroe calculators and was sent to Washington D.C. to work for a year. After two months in D.C., she decided she preferred to work in Louisville where she lived until her marriage to Gilbert Williams Jones on September 4, 1937. Two days later they moved to Grand Rapids, MI, where they had three children before moving to Pewee Valley in August 1953.
Virginia is preceded in death by her husband; one sister; and two brothers. She is survived by her daughters, Wilma Henderson (Don) of Madison, IN, Helen Roelandt (Ray) of Crestwood, KY; son, Bob Jones (Carla) of Crestwood; stepson, James Jones (Cathy); grandchildren, Mike Henderson, Richard Henderson (Kathy), Sally Chalian (Vicken), Ann-Clore Duncan (Walt), Clay Jones (Kelly), Gant Jones (Sarah), Kyle Roelandt, Diane Watkins (Jonathan); and nine great-grandchildren, Drew Henderson, Chase Henderson, James Duncan, Perrin Duncan, Emma Duncan, Ani Chalian, Lena Chalian, Madison Jones, and Parker Jones, all of whom miss her dearly.
