Hampden- Virginia A. “Ginger” Sherman, 83, passed away Saturday October 2, 2021.  She was born February 21, 1938 in Springfield, MA. Virginia was a 1956 graduate of Trade High School.  She worked at Old Federal Bakery, the Springfield Jewish Nursing Home, Mary Lyons Nursing home and finally for 25 plus years, at Koffee Kup Bakery doing what she loved and was much sought after, her decorating ability of cakes. Her hobbies were knitting, making stained glass windows, traveling antiquing, working on house projects and camping.
She is predeceased by her parents James and Jeannette (Caliri) Smith; her sister, Rose Mary (Provost) Chisholm; brother, Gary Smith and grandson, Eric Sherman.  Ginger is survived by her loving husband, George F. Sherman Jr; sons, Randy (Blythe) Sherman, Mark (Michelle) Sherman; grandchildren, Benjamin Sherman, Alexander Sherman and Meghan Sherman; great grandchildren, Joshua and Logan Sherman and Rylee Sherman; her brothers, Dennis (Phyllis) Smith, Raymond (Cindy) Smith and Ronald Provost as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  She will be sadly missed by all.
