Virgil R. Sheriff, 70, of Spirit Lake passed away on Friday, February 10, 2017 at Lakes Regional Health Care. Virgil was born on July 2, 1946 in Cedar Rapids, IA to George and Betty (Grooms) Sheriff. He graduated from High School in Cedar Rapids, IA. He was united in marriage to Sharyn Seivert on August 24, 1993 in Ida Grove, IA. Virgil worked to majority of his life as a Journeyman and Mill Wright on the Cedar Rapids, IA and Moline, IL area. Vigil enjoyed fishing and watching the Dallas Cowboys. He is survived by his wife Sharyn Sheriff of Spirit Lake; sister Nancy Ellsbury of Mason City, IA; brothers Rick and Gary Sheriff of Cedar Rapids, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
