Virgil Lee Calvert 76 of Rockledge Florida, formerly Pekin Illinois died peacefully at home May 10, 2019.

He was born December 27th, 1942 in Muscatine Iowa to Virgil L.

Virgil attended school in Davenport, Iowa and later enlisted into the Marine Corp in Long Beach California. Virgil worked and retired from Caterpillar Tractor Company in Peoria, Illinois being recognized for his dedication in never missing a day of work. 

Virgil loved going to classic car shows, landscaping and other home projects. He enjoyed playing tennis and racquetball and was an overall sports enthusiast. He always made time for doing things with his children and grandchildren.  Virgil lived out his retirement dream by moving to the beautiful state of Florida with his wife to enjoy it’s warm sunny climate.

Virgil is survived by his wife of 58 years, Barbara Ann Kilpatrick from McRae, Georgia, son Gregory Scott Calvert of Jacksonville Florida, daughter Jeannie Kathleen Osborn (Daniel) of Pekin, Illinois, grandchildren, Dakota Lee Osborn  (Samantha) of San Diego California and Sky Daniel Osborn of Pekin Illinois., two brothers, James Calvert (Vicki) of Quincy, Illinois and John Calvert of Orlando Florida. ,five sisters, Linda Schuette (Kent) of Quincy , Illinois, Bonnie Calvert of Bradenton, Florida, Joni Worcester (Ken) of Camp Point, Illinois., Diana Calvert of Quincy, Illinois., Cindy Brown (Richard) of Schaumburg, Illinois., and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son Gary Lee Calvert., three brothers, Lyle Calvert, Dennis Calvert, and Brian Calvert.

Virgil was always known for his hard work ethic, his love of the outdoors, great food, his wonderful smile and warm sunny personality. He was a lot of fun to be around. He will be greatly missed by so many.
