Virgil Fidelis Urban was born November 6, 1933 in Hyacinth, Kansas to Theodore and Adeline Urban. Virg was one of 5 children. He was the middle child – older brother Al, older sister Rose, younger brother Glenn and younger sister Evy.
The family moved to Denver, Colorado when Virg was 3 years old. He worked his entire life. He was called to the Army at age 18 for 2 years. He was stationed in Alaska for the entire 2 years. Virg & Mary met when Mary was in High School. They were wed on July 23, 1955. Virg started working at Mountain Bell in September 1957 and retired from Mountain Bell in February of 1986.
Virg enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling in their motor home. They were members of the North 40 Camping group and enjoyed traveling with 20 other couples around the country. In their earlier years they enjoyed Dancing. Virg also enjoyed riding his horse and participating in the annual round up in Kansas.
Virg is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary Jo Urban; 2 Daughters: Cindy, married to Steve Dozsak of Westminster, CO and Tina married to Dennis Schiel of Hays, KS. 5 Grandchildren: Jared (Beth) Schiel of Ellis, KS; Aaron (Lauren) Schiel of Spring, TX; Evan (Kyleigh) Schiel of Wiggins, CO; Deanna (Marshall) Putzier of Bennett, CO; Chelsea (Steven) Weeks, of Westminster, CO. 9, soon to be 10, Great Grandchildren: Zach Schiel, Hannah Schiel, Joel Schiel, Libby Schiel, Ellis Schiel, Easton Schiel, Kinley Kembel (Schiel), Camden Schiel, Jethro Putzier and due in July Brielle Weeks.
