Virgil Ezell King, age 83, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 30, 2021. He was born on October 12, 1937 in Macon, GA to the late Virgil E. King Sr. and Lilly Mae Patterson King. Along with his parents, Virgil is preceded in death by his son, Michael Ezell King and his sister, Opal King. Virgil is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jean Archer King; daughter, Melanie Wilde and her husband Tim. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Brooks Wilde (his wife Lauren), Brandon Wilde, Callie Wilde and numerous nieces and nephews. Virgil honorably served his country in the Navy during the Korean War. He later started his own construction company, VE King Construction which he proudly ran for 34 years. He and Jean are long time members of Cornerstone United Methodist in Newnan, GA. Anyone who knows “Pops”, knows that he adored his wife, daughter and three grandchildren more than anything else in this world. He will be gravely missed!
