Virgil Everett ”Brownie” Brown, 88, Anderson, died August 26, 2003 at Williamsburg Village-Muncie, Indiana after an extended illness. He was born June 17, 1915 in Huntsville, Indiana, and was a longtime Anderson resident. He retired from Nicholson File after 37 years of service. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church. He was a member of the Alexandria Masonic Lodge #235 F. & A.M.for 58 years, and a 32nd Degree Mason Scottish Rite, Valley of Indianapolis and the National Rifle Association. He was a gun enthusiast and was an avid hunter who enjoyed camping and fishing. He is survived by his wife who he married December 4, 1937, Ruth Kathryn Jones Brown; daughter, Dianna & husband Dean Bannon of Anderson; son, James Lee & wife Anna Brown of Roanoke; Eight grandchildren; Mike Bannon & wife Terri, Patrick Bannon, Scott Brown & wife Sheryl, Lisa Hoyt & husband John, Eric Brown, Laura Brown, Dan Walker & Scott Walker; Ten great grandchildren; Marc Bannon, Erin Bannon, Amanda Brown, Jon Hoyt, Kyle Hoyt, Ashley Walker, Alayna Walker, Xia Walker, Chad Day and Lisa Day; and his special friends at Brookville Lake Resort. He was preceded by his parents, Calvin Edward & Lena Brooks Brown; brother, Forrest Brown; sisters, May Lewis, Venice Steves and Florence Harvey.
