Violet Wilma (Lang) Ferebee, the daughter of William H. and Emma (Tonns) Lang, was born August 31, 1928, on a farm in Nuckolls County, Nebraska near Nelson. She departed this life Saturday, November 12, 2022, at the home of her daughter near Fremont, Nebraska at the age of 94 years.
Violet attended Grand Prairie country school and graduated from the Nelson High School with the class of 1945. After graduation from high school she taught at District 84 country school in Nuckolls County for three years. She married Gene Ferebee on January 23, 1949, and she became a full time farm wife and mother to their three children. They farmed initially north of Nelson and in 1958, moved to a farm south of Sedan and in 1965, they moved to the current farm northwest of Oak, Nebraska.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Gene, her brothers Raymond and LeRoy, her son-in-law Darrell Oltmanns and step-grandson Dwayne Oltmanns.
Survivors include sons, John Ferebee and wife Ronda of Oak, Nebraska; George Ferebee of Edgar, Nebraska; daughter Gwen Oltmanns of Fremont, Nebraska; grandchildren: Andrew Ferebee and wife Kaylee of Hastings, Nebraska; Patrick Ferebee of Hastings, Nebraska; step grandchildren: Dean Oltmanns and wife Pam of Omaha, Nebraska; Michelle Squier and husband Jeff of Golden, Colorado; one great granddaughter, three step-great granddaughters, two step-great grandsons, four step-great great grandchildren; sister Irene Anderson and husband Elmer of Lincoln, Nebraska; sisters-in-law Theora Lang of Superior, Nebraska and Billie Lang of Roswell, New Mexico; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
