Violet L. Ham, 83, of Meredosia, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012, at Heritage Health Therapy & Senior Care in Mt. Sterling.

She was born Mar. 26, 1929, in Meredosia, the daughter of Clarence Raymond and Delia Jane Dawson Allen. She married Edgar Lyle “Spruce” Ham on Feb. 17, 1947, in Quincy, and he preceded her in death on June 3, 1979.

She is survived by two daughters and one son, Marcella (Joseph) Follis of Mt. Sterling, Gary (Audrey) Ham of Versailles, and Christine (Jim) Clayton of Alexander; eight grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; one sister, Zelma (Dinks) Ruyle, and one brother, Delbert (Ruth) Allen, both of Meredosia. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and one brother, Charles Allen.

Mrs. Ham was Head Custodian for Meredosia-Chambersburg High School for 25 years. She was a member of Chambersburg Christian Church, and enjoyed traveling with the Senior Saints to Branson. She was also a member of the Quilt Club and the Red Hats. Violet enjoyed shopping, traveling, and being with friends and family.
