Violet J. Houser, 91 of Centralia, passed away Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Odin Healthcare Center.
She was born March 14, 1925 in Mulkeytown, daughter of Walter Medrvich and Hattie (Taylor) Medrvich. She married Wayner Houser on March 13, 1949 in Piggott, Arkansas and he preceded her in death on June 9, 1994.
Violet is survived by three children: Becky Luebben and husband Bill of Centralia, Mark Houser and wife Kristen of Centralia, and Byan Houser and wife Julie of Centralia; six grandchildren: Ross Houser of Centralia, Whitney Baldwin and husband Jeff of Fort Collins, Colorado, Jessica Gregory of Chicago, Sarah Krahl and husband Kyle of St. Louis, Missouri, Mallory Houser and fiancé Bryan Arnold of Centralia, and Jacob Houser of Centralia; four great-grandchildren: Lauren, Leo, Liam, and Alec; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son: Michael Houser, a grandson: Brandon Houser, and two sisters: Dora McGhee and Helen Graves.
Mrs. Houser was baptized at the age of fourteen in West Frankfort, Illinois. She attended New Testament Baptist Church in Centralia until her health made it impossible. Her faith in Christ never waived throughout her life.
Mrs. Houser was a supportive, loving wife. She enjoyed bowling, sewing, crocheting, and baking. She was especially known for her pies. She enjoyed life and her family. She and Wayner entered many husband wife bass tournaments. There were many varied activities and vacations with extended family which provide the family with many memories. She also loved her children dearly and expressed it in both words and deeds. She leaves behind a loving family who will miss her greatly.
