Violet Garnett “Boots” McGinty, 99, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2020, Boots was born May 7, 1921 in St. Louis, MO to Viola and Charles (Rapp) Diebel.
Boots was a lifelong avid athlete, playing professional women’s softball in the 1940’s and later becoming a championship golfer, bowler and lifelong Cardinal fan. She was also a lifelong volunteer at the Moberly Senior Citizens Center.
Boots is survived by her two sons Tom McGinty of Madison, MO and Pat McGinty of Kansas City, MO, grandson Brian McGinty, two granddaughters; Sarah Sanders and Megan McGinty both of Kansas City, numerous great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Boots was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clarence Edward McGinty, grandson Shawn Thomas McGinty, sister Ferne Diebel, and daughter in law Rebecca Sue McGinty.
