Viola had a passion for sewing. She performed alterations, making many garments for family, friends, neighbors and many businesses in the Saginaw County Area. She taught all of her daughters the art of making their own clothing.

Viola was the backbone of her family and the glue that kept the family together with the help of her God Jehovah.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her six daughters and one son: Emma (Banks) Morris, Clara Williams, Doris (John) Stammers, Jessie (Johnnie) Griffin, Maxine (Ricky) Pippins, Sterling Nelson and his fiancée Jessie Parham, and Arbery Lewis. She extended her love to Margo Fletcher and adopted her into her loving family. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. She was friends to many, but best friends to Leslie O’Daniel and Archie Kellum. She had a special fondness for Ella Maxie and family.
