Viola M. Fair age 85, of Ashland, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Good Shepherd Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born December 2, 1935 in Ashland County, the daughter of the late Orren and Lenore (Jones) Hines. She was a 1953 graduate of Northwestern High School and later went on to Columbus Business College. She had been employed with Samaritan Hospital in Quality Assessment for 14 years before retiring. Viola was a member of Grace Church in Ashland and had been active with the Women’s Missionary Society. She had enjoyed working the family farm with her father, she also enjoyed being outside doing yard work and taking walks.
On December 14, 1957 Viola married Richard Lee Fair who preceded her in death in 1968. Survivors include her son, Scott Fair of Ashland; daughter, Kelley (Jeff) Maruna of Shelbyville, KY.; along with her grandchildren, Ashley (Chad) Davis, Noah Fair, Zachary Maruna, and Leah Maruna.
In adddition to her parents and husband, Richard, Viola was preceded in death by her daughters, Diane Fair and Beth Gregg; brother, Marion “Bud” Hines and sister, Marilee Strine.
