Viola Gilchrist Blue, 91, of 168 Thompson St., New Haven passed away June 24, 2010 in The CT. Hospice, Branford. She was the widow of Hosea Blue. Mrs. Blue was born in Maxton, North Carolina July 10, 1918. She is survived by four sons, Eddie (Ella) Blue and Dannie (Audrey) Blue, both of New Haven, Jerome (Larita) Blue of Freeport, N.Y. and Devern Patterson in North Carolina; a brother, James McLean of Rowland, N.C.; three sisters, Mary Ellison of New Haven, Rosetta Paris of Hamden and Lillibell McLean in North Carolina; her aunt, Julia Fairfax; 18 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by four sons, James, Matthew, Bobby and Hosea Blue Jr. and a brother, Danny Gilchrist. Also survived by a host of other relatives and friends.
