Viola Bennett Marsingill age 101, Oakwood, GA. passed away Aug.31, 2020 at the Northeast GA Medical Center.
She was born Feb. 14, 1919 to Guy and Fannie Bennett in Buford, GA.
She was preceded in death by her husband LeRoy Marsingill of 69 years, her parents, her brothers, Thomas, Stanley and Billy Bennett, her sisters, Hattie Mae Mauldin, Louise Kemp and Ruth Johnson. Daughters, Patricia Marsingill, Betty Foster, and son, Michael Marsingill, and grandson, Ricky Foster.
She is survived by daughter and son in law, Judy and Lamar Jordan, Oakwood, Ga. Grandchildren, Deborah (Ed) Hancox, Jefferson, GA., Russell Foster, Jason (Christy) Jordan, Washington, D.C., Jana (Blair) Hutson, Gainesville, GA., Lorien (Joey) Magnus, and Kinsey Marsingill, 20 great grandchildren, 12 great, great grandchildren and 1 great, great, great grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Marsingill was a long time member of Center United Methodist Church in Hoschton, GA. She and her husband Roy owned and operated Marsingill’s Grocery in Resthaven, GA. until their retirement. She loved home, family, and enjoyed gospel music. Viola was a very loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to many.
The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude and appreciation to the staff and caregivers at the Oaks, Limestone in Gainesville and also to the Northeast Georgia Medical Hospital Hospice for their love and care provided to their mother.
