Viola B. Semenic, 89, of Bridgman, Michigan died Wednesday afternoon, December 22, 2010, at Jordan’s Lifecare Center in Bridgman.Vi was born June 25, 1921 in Chicago, Illinois to Joseph and Bertha (Brown) Hejda. She graduated from high school and married John Semenic on July 8, 1939 in Chicago. She was employed by Bell Telephone as an operator and service assistant in Illinois, and then in Michigan. Vi enjoyed square dancing and going to dances with her husband. She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption church in Three Oaks, Michigan.
Survivors include her children, Elizabeth (Ronald) Seifert of Plaino, Illinois; Sandra (William) Lewis of Three Oaks; JoAnn (Allan) Pickert of Lees Summit, Missouri; Susan (William) Hudson of LaPorte, Indiana and Sharon (Steven) Hamann of New Buffalo, Michigan; 19 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, her sister-in-law, Rose Semenic; 2 half brothers, and her dear friend, Bill Ward. She was preceded in death by her son, Lawrence in 1974, and by her husband, John in 1990.
