Marion-Vinia C. Perkins, 88, passed away Tuesday evening, May 23, 2017, at the Marion Rehabilitation and Assisted Living Center following an extended illness. She was born on April 20, 1929, in Cartwright, Kentucky, the daughter of Joe D. and Nola Ethel (Clark) Garrett.
Vinia attended Cartwright city schools and later married the love of her life, Arnold H. Perkins in the 1950’s and he preceded her in death in 1991. Mrs.
Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Rhoedes (husband-Joe), Marion and Judy Barnard (husband-John) Ridge Crest, California; four sons, David Perkins , Marion , Alan Perkins (wife-Mareen), Anderson, Lonnie Perkins, Marion and Wayne Perkins, Silver Lake; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; one sister, Dean Caudill , Somerset, Kentucky; two brothers, L.C. Garrett (wife- Frances) and Ernie Garrett, both of Muncie; several nieces and nephews;
Besides her husband of several years, Arnold, she is preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Opal Bailey in 2007.
