Vincent P. Lacy was born August 8, 1927, to John J. and Beatrice C. Lacy, both now deceased.  He graduated from St. Peter’s School, Kansas City, Kansas, and St. Joseph’s Military Academy, Hays, Kansas. He served in the U.S. Navy Air Corps in World War II. He graduated from Benedictine College, Atchison, Kansas, in 1950. Vince also served in the Korean War, finishing as a Captain in the United States Marine Corps.

Vince resided in the Kansas City area from 1953 until 1987 and in Scottsdale, Arizona, from 1987 until his death. He was employed at J.A. Tobin Construction from 1953 until 1985 and Blue Valley Federal Savings and Loan from 1985 until 1991. Vince always considered the greatest things in his life to be his family and his unfailing work effort and business ethics.

Vince married his loving wife, Gay Arensberg Lacy, in Atchison, Kansas, on February 7, 1953.  Vince would always say that he had the most wonderful and fun-filled life in business and with his many friends, but the best part of his life was the large family he and Gay enjoyed. They are the parents of five children: Stephen (Cathy) Lacy, Des Moines, Iowa; Susan (Tony) Gonzales, Coppell, Texas; Paul (Lisa) Lacy, Lenexa, Kansas; Jean (Todd) Stoa, Scottsdale, Arizona; and Mark (Carolyn) Lacy, Overland Park, Kansas. No father could be prouder of his children, their spouses, and his beloved grandchildren: Paul and Mary Lacy, Elizabeth and Andrew Gonzales, Jamie Lacy, Timothy and Megan Stoa, and Patrick and Katie Lacy. Mr. Lacy leaves his wife, children, grandchildren, and sister Virginia Lacy McKinnon of Alexandria, Virginia.
