WATERBURY- Vincent Michael “Butch” Russo, 47, of Waterbury, died unexpectedly Friday, January 9, 2009 at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Mr. Russo was born February 7, 1961, the son of Vincent J. and Dorothy (Grey) Russo of Woodbury. He graduated from Firestone High School in Akron, Ohio, the University of Texas in Austin with a B.A. in Accounting and from the University of Akron School of Law, in Ohio with a JD degree. He had worked as an Attorney in Waterbury for over 18 years.
While in Akron, Mr. Russo was Senior Accountant at Bober & Markey, CPA’s from 1983-1987. He was Senior Accountant for Uniroyal Chemical Co., in Middlebury, CT from 1987-1991, an Attorney at Drubner, Hartley, O’Connor & Mengacci in Waterbury from 1991-1993, and was Managing Partner at Antonacci and Russo, PC in Waterbury from 1994-2008.
Mr. Russo was member of the Waterbury and Connecticut Bar Associations, Member of AICPA, Certified Public Accountant in Connecticut and Ohio, Commissioner, State of Connecticut Freedom of Information Commission, Commissioner, City of Waterbury, Finance and Audit Review Commission.
He was an avid fisherman and golfer, lifelong Red Sox fan and an enthusiastic supporter of the Waterbury Town Plot Little League. He played on the varsity soccer team at the University of Texas and continued his love for the sport by playing with several adult teams in the Waterbury area.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his beloved son, Jackson Grey Russo and by his former wife, Laurie Singer Russo and Jackson’s sister Chelsea Murray all of Waterbury, two sisters, Dianne Russo Veley and her husband Timothy of Woodbury and Michele Russo Rupe and her husband Stephen of Bethlehem, nieces and nephews, Alexa, Preston and Carter Veley, Joseph and Annalise Rupe, his uncle and godfather Joseph A. Russo of Boston, MA, his aunt and godmother Janet E. Grey of Woodbury and his uncle Judge Domenic J.F. Russo of Winthrop, MA.
