Vincent Ferguson was born to William and Jimmie Lee Ferguson on December 7, 1966, in Chicago, IL. He was the second youngest of six children. The Ferguson family moved from Chicago, Illinois to Bellwood, Illinois in 1974. Vincent attended Walther Lutheran High School. While at Walther Lutheran, Vincent enjoyed being a member of the basketball team for several years. Vincent graduated from Walther Lutheran High School in 1985. After graduation Vincent began his career as a bagger at Dominick’s grocery store. Vincent swiftly worked himself up to assistant manager and shortly became store manager where he held his position for over 15 years until the store closed.
Vincent enjoyed life. He appreciated good food and traveling. He loved to barbecue on his grill that he affectionately called Lena Horne. Vincent was a people person that would give you the shirt off of his back. While grilling he enjoyed listening to old school music and jazz. He loved sports especially his Chicago teams and he was a passionate shopper. Vincent loved the Lord and would send Bible verses to his friends and family every morning. Vincent came into the full knowledge of God and confessed his faith in Jesus Christ in 2017. He was baptized at Broadview Baptist. Together with his mother and sister, Vincent remained under the leadership of Pastor Christopher Robinson, Sr.
Vincent was preceded in death by his father William Larry Ferguson, and his brothers, Dennis Ferguson and Kevin Ferguson Sr. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother which he called “The Leader” Jimmie Lee Ferguson, his only sister which he called “Sister Soldier” Vivian (Dennis) Burl, two brothers Larry (Cynthia) Ferguson, Christopher Ferguson; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
