Vince passed away peacefully in his sleep at home. He was born on July 22, 1929 to Joseph and Lillian (Cipriano) Como. Raised in Cranston, Rhode Island, he is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart Patricia (Sciotti), his son Scott of Monroe, CT and his son Christopher and wife Patricia of Monroe, CT. Vince served in the Korean war and returned to attend University Of Rhode Island graduating in 1955. Additionally, He served as a battalion commander at the post in Fairfield where he attained the rank of Lt Colonel. He began his Career with AEtna insurance and later co- founded Como & Nicholson, Inc, a firm that specializes in contractors’ insurance and bonding.  He was passionate about his career and served in many volunteer roles which included: President, board member, and chairman of several committees of the National Association of Surety Bond Producers, Connecticut Utility Contractors association, Board member of the Council of Insurance Agents and Brokers, Executive committee member of the National Construction Industry Council, to name a few.

 

Vince was very civically involved and served on the Town of Fairfield RTM, Board of Finance, and ended his long career when he served as the chief staff executive to the First Selectman of Fairfield.

 

He enjoyed skiing and golfing and was a member of the Patterson Club in Fairfield for 54 years. Until a couple of weeks before his passing Vince thrived on life, and will be missed by his friends and colleagues.
