Vincent Durbin, 89, of Boerne, passed away on Thursday, June 28, 2018.

Vincent Benedict Durbin was born on December 7, 1928 to Lewis and Ottillia (Kuntscher) Durbin in Vattman, Texas. He grew up in South Texas where he attended Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church and School as well as Riviera High School. Vincent married the love of his life, Margaret Jayne Hutsell, on June 21, 1952 in Kingsville, Texas. He is a veteran of the US Army and after serving his country, he worked as a lineman, installer and teletype/PBX repairman for Southwestern Bell where he retired after 35 years of service. Vincent was an avid gardener, fisherman, carpenter and all around “fix it” man. He was an active volunteer fireman in Kingsville and a devoted member of the Knights of Columbus. Vincent built his home in Kendall County and he and Margaret settled there in 1995 after his retirement.

Vincent is survived by his wife of over 66 years, Margaret Durbin; his daughters, Letitia Durbin Smith and her husband, Greg, and Sharon Durbin; his son, Vincent Durbin, Jr. his sister, Marie Durbin Frontera; his brother, Joseph Durbin; his grandchildren, Dacarie, Michael, Joshua, Amanda, and Treyce; his great-grandchildren, Brendan, Skyllar, and Brylee; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends, all of whom loved and will miss him deeply.

Vincent was preceded by his parents, Lewis and Ottillia Durbin, and seven brothers.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Vincent’s dear cousins, the Kuntscher family.

Instead of the usual remembrances, the family suggests that memorials be made in Vincent’s name to the Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church, 204 Palm Avenue, Riviera, TX 78379.
