Vila B. Cole, 88 of Centralia passed away, Thursday, June 12, 2014 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia.
Vila was born January 27, 1926 in Lincoln County, Missouri, daughter of Clyde Hughes and Sarah (Merritt) Hughes.
She married Morris M. Cole on October 6, 1945 in Sandoval at the Methodist Parsonage and he preceded her in death. She is survived by a son, Thomas Cole and wife Sharon of Centralia, a half sister, Coleen Wefer and husband Albert of Shoebonier, a sister-in-law, Shirley Griffin, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, Nicole Warren, three sisters: Ruth Carter, Helen Klosterman and Theda Delay.
Vila was a member of Fouts Christian Church, Patoka American Legion Auxiliary and AARP. She enjoyed crossword puzzles. Most of all she loved spending time with her cat, Taffy and her family.
