Victoria “Vickie” Lee Alkove, 71, of Anderson, passed away on May 28, 2020, at Community Hospital North, Indianapolis. She was born on January 28, 1949, in Anderson, the daughter of John Riley and Jeanette True.
Vickie was a retired teacher and lived most of her life in Anderson, Indiana. She lived her life to serve others.
Vickie was in Girl Scouting her entire life and devoted over 50 years to young girls as a Girl Scout Leader.
She was a very active member of her church home, Anderson Church of the Brethren, and spent many years dedicated to teaching young children about Christ.
She loved the outdoors and spent most of her summers camping and enjoying nature. Her family will remember her for her spunky attitude, her passion for serving others, the love and support she always provided, and the way she cared for us through the years.
Vicki will be missed by many people whose lives she touched through her service to the community.
She is survived by her loving husband, Richard Alkove; children, Jim (Angela) Alkove, Rebecca (Jeancois) Appolon, Roberta (Willie) Priester, and John Alkove; grandchildren, Lyndsey (Sean Addington) Young, Jordan Young, Riley Alkove, Autumn Alkove, Arayah Alkove, and Abigail Alkove; brother, George Riley. Vickie was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Michael Riley.
