Victoria Louise Serafin, age 88, longtime resident of Milford and beloved wife to the late Andrew Serafin, passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at Milford Health Care Center. Born in Milford on December 9, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Bruno and Sophie Michalski Mozleski and grew up on Maplewood Dr. Victoria attended Walnut Beach Grammer School and was a graduate of Milford HS and Butler Business School. She was employed by Bridgeport Brass and the Bridgeport Herald, where she met and married Andrew. Victoria also worked at the Trumbull Printing Co and later at G. Fox. After raising her family in Monroe, Victoria returned to her childhood roots moving back to the Walnut Beach area. Victoria was an active member of the West Shore Senior Center, where she was a past Treasurer.
She is survived by her children, Douglas Serafin of Stratford, Mary Serafin of Reston, VA and Cheri McNabola and her husband Jack of Orange, and her granddaughter Katie who was the light of her life. She is also survived by her sister Elizabeth Phelan and her husband Edward of Milford and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by sisters, Dorothy Mozleski, Blanche Sarnacki, Frances Koceski and Marion Horosko.
The family would like to thank the staff and residents of Milford HCC for the wonderful care, compassion and companionship that they offered Victoria throughout her stay.
