Victoria L. Devereaux, 70, passed away October 18, 2013, at her residence in Belton surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 27, 1943 to Helen Jarzembski in Decatur, IL.
Growing up, she lived from coast to coast and graduated from St. Teresa Catholic High School in Decatur, IL. She married Ronald J. Devereaux in 1962. Vicki worked in retail and loved traveling, camping, and arts and crafts. She was a member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church and served as Eucharist Minister, member of St. Luke’s Women’s Society, manager of the church gift shop, and volunteered as receptionist of the church office.
She also belonged to the Bell County Newcomers Club. Some of Vicki’s most cherished times were spent at Cedar Brake Retreat near Belton where she often walked her four legged friend Bella and camped with all her grandchildren. Preceding her in death includes her parents, her husband of 29 years, and two brothers.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald Devereaux and wife Susie of Cibolo; Daniel Devereaux and wife Stephanie of Keller; four daughters, Renee’ Matous and husband Bruce of Morgan’s Point; Angela Janak of Temple; Debbie Smith and husband Frank of Belton; and Tiffany Lilly and husband Tim of Kemp; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Lynn Hermann of Sullivan, IL, and one brother, Jeff Lewis of Reno, NV.
