Victor “Vic” Wayne Shives, 77, of Salisbury passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center.
Born in Rowan County on June 6, 1944, he was the son of the late Lillie Beatrice Garwood and Johnie McKenzie Shives.
Mr. Shives was a 1963 graduate of Boyden High School and worked as a supervisor of shipping and receiving at National Starch and Chemical in Salisbury. He was the life of the party and enjoyed being around people, laughing and joking with everyone – the more the merrier. He enjoyed hunting and being in the outdoors. Mr. Shives was an avid Duke fan. He never met a stranger. He is loved by so many and will be remembered and missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard and Barry Shives.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 58 years, Doris Coble Shives; daughters, Robin Mashburn (Doug) of Salisbury, Stephanie Belk (Todd) of Salisbury, and Jessica Livengood (Donald) of Salisbury; grandchildren, Brandon Belk, Brittney Goodnight, Joey Hornbeak, Hunter Mashburn, McKenna Cottingham, Cody Livengood, and Kayla Livengood and seven great-grandchildren.
