Victor R. Burdick

NORWICH, CT, Victor R. Burdick, 73, beloved husband of Dorothy (Gliwski) Burdick, of Harbor View Ln. passed away peacefully on May 12, 2015. Born in Florida, MA, he was the son of the late Robert and Viola (St. Cyr) Burdick.
Vic was educated in the North Adams school systems graduating from Drury High School. Vic graduated from UMASS Amherst with a degree in electrical engineering. During his forty plus years of employment he worked for General Electric and Lockheed Martin in Pittsfield, MA, retiring from General Dynamics in Groton, CT, in 2014.
Vic was an avid bowler and enjoyed golf. He was an avid sports fan for his beloved Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. Those that knew Vic know that there was never a Christmas that he did not wear his famous Red Sox Santa hat.
Besides his beloved wife Dot, whom he married on July 11, 1964, he is survived by four sons and a daughter; Robert of St. Cloud, FL, James of North Adams, MA, Joseph of Cheshire, MA, Mark of North Adams, MA, and Tammy of Hershey, PA; five grandchildren Edward, Steven, and Jamie Burdick and Alexandria and Aaron Sauer; two great grandchildren Carly Elizabeth and Courtney Ann Shade; two brothers Ronald Burdick of Adams, MA and Roger Burdick of Pittsfield, MA, a sister Carol Mazzu of Holyoke, MA; a special brother and sister in law Jim and Sally Gliwski; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two grandchildren Julia Burdick Shade and Nickolas Allen Burdick; and two sisters Elaine Choquette and Janice Richards.
