Victor Matthew Prebor Jr., 87, entered into the presence of the Lord on Tuesday, December 16, 2014, due to heart failure with his loving wife of 31 years, Margaret “Peg” Prebor at his side.
Vic was born September 29, 1927 in Hartford, CT to Victor Matthew Prebor Sr. and Nelda (Walker) Prebor.
He proudly served with the U.S. Navy for 20 years, participating in both World War II and the Korean War.
He worked for Owens-Illinois in Lakeland, FL as a computer engineer for 35 years. He was an avid athlete participating in boxing, wrestling, baseball, skiing and ice skating, being replaced by golfing and bowling in his later years.
Vic is survived by his spouse, Margaret “Peg” Prebor; children from a former marriage: Mary, Janet George, Victor III, Jennifer Forsthoefel (Greg), Kimberly Colbert, Darrell (Beth), Victoria, Vaughn, Dionne Jaime (Manny); step-daughter, Diane Hill (Jim); 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; brothers Paul and Layne and sister Peggy Herfel. Preceded in death by his sister, Nadine Gero and brother, Earl Prebor.
