Victor Gyozo Kocsis, age 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at Piedmont Newnan Hospital. He was born in Dövény, Hungary on August 7, 1938, to the late Pál Kocsis and Margit Sztari Kocsis. He left Hungary to escape the Soviet military occupation in 1955 and came to the United States in 1958 in search of a better life. He worked for several years as a tool and die maker and met the love of his life, Joan. Victor then worked for Eastern Airlines and Northwest Airlines as an aircraft mechanic for 30 years, retiring in 2002. He was an avid golfer, a world traveler, and enjoyed gardening. Victor’s life was one of family, friends, and personal triumph. He had an innate ability to turn any stranger into a friend and will be remembered as great husband, loving father and grandfather, and the life of every party, event, or family function. He truly touched many lives and will be greatly missed. Along with his parents, Victor is preceded in death by his daughter Sandra Manning and his sisters, Margo Simon and Eva Juhasz. Victor is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joan Moran Kocsis; children, Joseph Manfredi, Donna Cooley and her husband Perry, Vicki Marks and her husband Brian, Paul Kocsis and his wife Susie; grandchildren, Michele Moss, Jennifer Thornton, Ryan Kania, Alex Cooley, Jason Cooley, Jeffery Hanchuruck, Devin Marks, Owen Marks, Lily Kocsis and Paul Kocsis, Jr., and 8 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by nephews Nick Szabo and Gyorgy Juhasz, his wife Agnes Miko, and great nieces, Bianca Juhasz and Corinna Juhasz.
