Victor D. Lovett, 93, of Elkhart, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2020 to be reunited with his loving wife, Alice A. Lovett, who preceded him on May 1, 2006. He was born in Elkhart, IN on June 1, 1927 to the late Fred H. and Irma M. (Carlson) Lovett-Leach.

He is survived by his children, Rex (Debi) Lovett, Fred (Brenda) Lovett, Susan (David) Clifton, and Eric Lovett; brother, Arthur R. Lovett; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

Victor served proudly in the United States Navy in World War II on the USS Winslow where he was stationed on the bridge. He obtained his private pilot’s license and was a flight instructor for Civil Air Patrol for several years. Victor loved the freedom that flying gave him. He married the love of his life, Alice, on July 22, 1950 and enjoyed over 50 years of marriage by her side before her passing in 2006.

Victor worked as a machinist at the CTS Corporation for 40 years prior to his retirement. In his spare time, he enjoyed sailing, playing the guitar and singing faithfully for others at events, retirement centers, and nursing homes, and spending time with his children and grandchildren, great grandchildren. Victor will be missed greatly by his loving family and friends.
