Victor “Super Duck” was born on September 3, 1956 in Morgan County, Alabama to Vergie E. Smith Byrd and the late Venorris Byrd.  He departed this life on October 28, 2013 at Huntsville Hospital. “Super Duck” was a 1974 graduate of Austin High School.  Mr. Byrd was a Truck Driver for Fed EX Freight for 20 plus years.   He accepted Christ at an early age and joined St. Stephen P.B. Church under Pastor Eugene Lewis.  He later united with Bridge Builders Church International under Pastor Darius Crayton where he served faithfully as a minister and elder. He was very humble and good spirited man.

He was preceded in death by his father, Venorris Byrd.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Varrian Adkins Byrd; two daughters, Miranda Tucker Blackwood and Yasmine Owens all of Decatur: five grandchildren, Tokia Brashers, Kashus Blackwood, Zyah Blackwood, Tylik Clopton and Na’ryah Brinkley; one god-daughter, Mary Jones ; two god-sons, Karrington Gholston and Victor Banks; two sisters, Kathy Byrd and Shelia Byrd; two brothers, Rex Byrd and Dwight Byrd all of Decatur; three aunts, Jessie Mae Chairs, Gurnice McDay and Dossie Byrd all of Decatur; one uncle, Willie James Byrd of Indianapolis, IN;  three brothers-in-law, Ernest Fuqua, Fred (Jacqueline) Fuqua both of Decatur and Clarence (Damita) Adkins of Priceville; four sisters-in-law, Wanda (Rafer) Jones, Tarrian Fuqua, Erin Fuqua and Ingrid Fuqua all of Decatur; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
