Vickie Rose Vinney, 48, of Freeport, died peacefully with family at her side, Monday, November 21, 2005 at FHN Memorial Hospital.
Born January 8, 1957 in Freeport she was the daughter of James and Marjorie (Yoder) Meinders. On October 9, 1974 she married Eldon J. Vinney and they divorced after 20 years of marriage, but remained friends over the years. She worked at Stephenson Nursing Center many years as a Nurse’s Assistant and Laundry Supervisor. An avid Cubs fan, she loved decorating for Christmas, attending auctions, tending to her garden, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Surviving are her parents; sons, Scott (Megan) Vinney and Jason (Shannon Hale) Vinney; honorary son, Nick Bowser; sisters, Brenda (Steve) Snyder and Tina (Steve) Maize; two grandchildren, Reily Joeseph Vinney and Harmoni Rose Vinney; aunts, Joyce Shade and Tootie Bender; uncle, Butch Yoder; 2 nieces, Abigail Maize and Mandy (Jeff Isenberger) Snyder; 1 nephew, August Maize; special friend, Lee Vehmeier; all of Freeport; and other special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
