Vickie Moose, March 9, 1950 – July 28, 2012.

Vickie Lee (Elsheimer) Moose, 62, of Belton. Mrs. Moose was born March 9, 1950 in Pampa, the daughter of Kenneth Lee Elsheimer and Florence Ilene “Oley” Wagner. She married Perry A. Moose, June 22, 1968 in Pampa. Mrs. Moose moved to Belton in 1986 when she accepted the opportunity to become director of the Red Cross for Bell and Lampasas Counties.

She was with this organization for many years. She was a true Humanitarian, under her guidance she built and supported several civic agencies including Bluebonnet Home Health Care which cared for AIDS patients. She was involved with the Trauma Council and Crisis Help Center. She was director for AIDS Hospice in San Antonio. Mrs. Moose was a member of the Democratic Women of Bell County, The Daughters of the Texas Independence and the American Revolution, both at the state and federal levels.

She was a tireless grant writer benefiting many local charities and organizations. She was the 2008 Jefferson award winner locally and a national finalist. In March 2009 she received national recognition with the Presidential Award.

Survivors include her husband Perry A. Moose of Belton; mother Oley Wagner of Pampa, son Perry Lee Moose of Belton and sister Nancy Poole of Pampa; three grandchildren and one great grandchild. M
