It is with saddened hearts, that we announce that on the evening of September 29, 2022 we lost Vickie Lynn Schlender-Shirey at the young age of 67. Vickie was born in Norfolk Nebraska on January 4, 1955 and resided in Glendale, Arizona at the time of her passing.
Vickie is preceded in death by her father; Victor Schlender, her mother; Patricia Boyd and younger sister; Sandra Perry. She is survived by her 5 children; Reba Towle, 50, of Stockton California, Rene’ Fink, 48, of Peoria Arizona, Bryce Schlender, 34, of Glendale Arizona., Amber Shirey, 30 of Glendale Arizona, and Camden Shirey, 27, of Avondale Arizona. Her sisters; Jacque McIntosh Cox, Donna Benson, Sheryl Sommerfeld, Pamela Herrell, Patti Lockenour, and brother Kevin Schlender. As well as her 5 grandkids, 5 great-grandkids and countless nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
Vickie spent her entire career as a Registered Nurse and had a caring passion for each and every one of her patients. She also loved to travel. Each and every summer she would pack up her vehicle with her kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews and would set out to see different sites around the US and Canada, making many memories along the way.
