     Mrs. Vicki Lynn Penuel McCoy of Lanett, Alabama, formerly a long-time resident of Enterprise and Ozark, passed away on Monday, November 7, 2022, at her residence.

     Mrs. McCoy was born in Honolulu, HI on September 19, 1948 to the late Ernest Coolidge Penuel and Margaret Lucille McIntosh Penuel.

    Vicki attended Enterprise High School and was a member of the class of 1966.  She went on to Enterprise State and Troy State earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology. 

    Upon graduating, she began her career with an internship at St. Margaret’s Hospital in Montgomery, Alabama.  She then accepted positions at Henry County Hospital in Abbeville, Alabama and Dale Medical Center in Ozark, Alabama. Vicki’s education and extensive work in a medical laboratory setting led her to work in private practice where she was instrumental in creating and managing an in house laboratory for the practice.

     Vicki and her husband, Bobby, then moved to Lanett, Alabama to be closer to their family.  They both became members of the First Baptist Church of Opelika.  She was also a member of the Philanthropic Education Organization where women celebrate women and provide guidance in their advancement.

     She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Robert E. “Bobby” McCoy; daughters and their husbands, Jennifer McCoy Dozer and Jim, Amy McCoy Reaves and Daniel; grandchildren, Matthew Reaves, Phillip Wallace, Jonathan Freeman; brothers, Michael Penuel (Chris), Eddie Penuel, Mark Penuel  (Holly); several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
