Vicki passed away suddenly at her home in Boise, Idaho on September 1, 2014.
Vicki was born on May 15th, 1955, in Emmett, Idaho, to Roger Lee Darnell and Edith Loraine Zentzis (Smith). Emmett was her home-town until 1974. In her first chapter of adult life, she was briefly married to her high school sweetheart and gave birth to her first son, Shawn Lanman. In 1974, she moved to Boise and met the love of her life, John Murph Naughtin whom she married on October 2, 1977. Together they called Boise their home and raised three wonderful sons, Shawn, Ryan and Chris. Vicki’s career choice was that of mother and caregiver to her family, friends, and pets. She was involved with her children’s school activities and associations. Vicki spent time involved with the Boise Schools Community Education program.
Despite medical afflictions in her later years, her life focused around her family, children and grandchildren. She had a generous heart, great a sense of humor and was a joy to be around. She enjoyed the outdoors and traveling to see her sons in Michigan and Florida. Most of all, being she enjoyed being a mother and grandmother.
Vicki is survived by her mother, Edith Smith; husband, John Murph Naughtin; sisters, Susan Darnell, Nancy Darnell and Brandy Smith; children, Shawn and Cassandra Lanman, and their children, Carynn 19, Brendan 16, and Ethan age 9 of Michigan, Dr. Ryan and Lina Naughtin of Florida, and Christopher Naughtin, and his children, Sidney 11, and Seth age 7, of Idaho.
She will be loved and missed by all who knew her.
