AViccie Harbour lived a good life. She departed this life on March 28, 2018 surrounded by love. She lived most of her life in central Idaho on “the River” (Salmon River), she was a great lady. As a result of her life’s service and work, Viccie Harbour was deeply, widely loved. Avicii says, “Life’s a game made for everyone and love is the prize.”
Viccie Harbour made her world better. Her example of strength, compassion, and humble self-reliance resonated with all those who knew her. She grew up in Washington, Oregon, and California, graduating from Davis High School in 1972. She earned a Bachelor Degree in Forestry from Washington State University in 1978.
Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Niece, EMT, trusted friend, and leader were all titles she wore with pride. She was born February 11, 1954 in Richland, Washington. Her father, Thomas Clay Harbour, Sr preceded her in passing. The reunion of daughter and father will be joyous.
Since 1979, Viccie has been part of the wonderful community on “the River”. The Salmon River is a place of wonder, joy, solace and beauty. She loved the River and she loved the people of the River. She formed strong bonds with good people and she will rest among them.
Viccie, as she felt her community service demanded, has been part of the EMT group in the Gibbonsville area (the Gibbonsville Quick Response Unit (QRU)) and Lemhi County area for over twenty-five years. She was an advanced EMT, having proudly worked her way up “through the ranks.” Her work with her friends on the QRU and Ambulance was one of the joys of her life. Her passion for teaching was well known. She is an unsung hero who helped many people.
She is survived by her mother, Patricia, her brother, Tom (Laree), three nieces, a nephew and her “children” Stella Luna, Ms. Chevious, Simora, Barnacle & Elmer.
