Veronica Vernie (Baran-Pajak) Twardowski, 97, of Peru, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at Heritage Manor in Peru. Mrs. Twardowski was born January 23, 1914 in Peru to Felix and Rozalia (Grzech) Baran. She was raised by Sebastian and Mary Pajak. She married Frank J. Twardowski on November 25, 1939 at St. Valentines Church in Peru.
Mrs. Twardowski was a member of St. Valentines Church in Peru, Women’s Polish National Alliance, AARP and Peru VFW Auxiliary #8232. She was previously employed at Westclox and was a homemaker. She enjoyed growing flowers. Her family was her greatest joy. Survivors include her son, Gary (Lisa) Twardowski of Peru; her daughter, Gloria Jean Marini of Marlborough, CT; three grandsons, Jason, Ryan and Nicholas Twardowski and one great-grandson, Brady Twardowski. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank on March 28, 1992; two sisters and one brother.
