Verona A. Hoffman, a life-long area resident, died Thursday morning, December 22, 2016 at Gritman Medical Center. She was 93. Verona was born April 17, 1923 in Uniontown, WA to Mark P. and Amelia (Schumacher) Cole. She grew up in the Thorn Creek area and started school at the Lower Thorn Creek Country School, then went to Genesee High School where she graduated as Salutatorian in 1941.
