Vernon Lee Lindner, 91, of Canon City, Colorado went to be with the Lord on March 4, 2022. “Vern” was born on July 21, 1930, in Steeleville, Illinois to Sigmund and Florence (Weaver) Lindner.
Vern was baptized and confirmed at St.
Vern worked at various construction companies before going to work at Davidson Chevrolet. In 1968, Vern and Dale “Jiggs” Davidson went into partnership and started Davidson-Lindner Chevrolet in Canon City. Vern became the sole owner of Linder Chevrolet, Oldsmobile, and Cadillac in 1974. Vern loved the car business and never truly retired.
Outside of the dealership, Vern was true to his farming roots.
Vern is survived by his son, Steven (Charlene) Lindner of Canon City, CO; grandson, Travis (Trish) Lindner of Canon City, CO; granddaughter, Brooke (Sean) Humphrey of Parker, CO; great-grandsons, Landon and Kellan Humphrey of Parker, CO; brother, Virgil (Nora) Lindner of Central City, NE; nephew, Lance (Tina) Lindner of Central City, NE; niece, Leah (Darren) Brown of Central City, NE; nephews of Denver, CO; several great-nieces and nephews of Central City, NE; and longtime friend, Elan Maestas of Canon City, CO.
He is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Louis and Alveena (Opperman) Lindner and August and Amelia (Otterson) Weaver; wife, Grace Lindner; sister-in-law, Winifred (Marvin) Meyer; sister-in-law, Irma (Warren) Masker; and great-nephew, Benjamin Lindner.
