Vernon L. Boyle, age 85, of Lisbon, died at 7:25 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at his home with his family by his side. He was born December 25, 1928 in Winona, Ohio, son of the late Clyde L. and Mabel (Votaw) Boyle. Vernon attended Salem High School and had been a self employed welder for 45 years. He worked at E.W. Bliss as a welder for almost 10 years. He was a member of the Trinity Friends Church, an elder and Sunday School teacher for 55 years. He loved spending time with his family. A brother, Richard Boyle and a son-in-law Frank McIlvain preceded him in death. His wife, Janet (Anderson) Boyle, whom he married February 7, 1948, survives him along with three sons, Vernon E. (fiancée, Marge Klemann) Boyle of Hanoverton, James (Lori) Boyle of Salem and Michael (Jackie) Boyle of Salem; six daughters, Charlene (Bob) Holenchick of Salem, Judith McIlvain of Lisbon, Jacqueline Boyle of Hanoverton, Barbara (Ed) Wilson of Wellsville, Dianna (Keith) Beaver of Leetonia and Lisa (Alan) Blake of Salem; 28 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 10 great great-grandchildren.
