Details: Vernon “Jake” R. Hawkins, 74, a resident of Pasadena for 44 years died on April 2, 2013 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center. He was born on November 22, 1938 in Baltimore, MD to the late William A. and Clara L. Hawkins. Mr. Hawkins served in the US Marines from 1958 until 1964. He was a Lieutenant in the Baltimore City Fire Department where he worked from 1964 until his retirement in 1997. He most recently worked for Costco in Arundel Mills from 1997 until his death. Mr. Hawkins was an avid sports fan. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Linda D. Hawkins, his son Keith R Hawkins and his wife Eileen of Pasadena, his daughter Wendy L. Back and her husband Brett of Pasadena, his brother Raymond Hawkins of Paw Paw, WV, and his grandchildren; Jason and James Hawkins and Peter Back.
