Vernon Chancy Rauch, age 75, died of heart and lung complications on May 24th, 2016, at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center, Boise, Idaho. Vern was born on July 6th, 1940 in Estherville, Iowa, to parents Chancy and Pauline.
He entered a business partnership in a Mercury mining operation, which proved to be a successful endeavor. Following was the start of a water well drilling company that originated from a homemade drill rig made from parts out of the local junk yard. He continued in the drilling business in California until 1996, when he moved his family to Garden Valley, Idaho and continued to drill wells for another ten years. During that time he sought after a patent for a piece of drilling equipment. This invention became the cornerstone for Rauch Manufacturing, which operates today out of Emmett, Idaho and sells its product all over the world.
Rauch Manufacturing, a family business is now operated by his son and daughter, James & Jessica. Vern was a great family man and a loving father. He enjoyed building custom hot rods and showing them throughout the west. He was recognized by many car enthusiasts for his creative and original designs. He enjoyed attending and supporting his children at their activities. He was also passionate about private aviation and the freedom it allowed.
Vern is survived by his brother, Gene; his sister, Faye and her husband, Gary; his daughter, Teresa; his granddaughter, Tiffany; his son, Mark and his 3 children; his daughter, Rhonda and her 3 children; his daughter, Jessica; his son, James and his daughter, Jeanna and husband Ross. He is preceded in death by his father, Chancy; his mother, Pauline; and his sister, Mary. He will be greatly missed by all.
