Vernie “Cecil” Hagey, 87 of Elkton, MD, passed away Monday, February 20, 2017 in the Heartland Hospice House, Wilmington, DE.
Born in Pocahontas, VA, on August 5, 1929, he was the son of the late Ciebert C. and Rebecca May (Bennett) Hagey.
Mr. Hagey served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
He retired from Chrysler after 30 years of service as a forklift operator. Prior to working for Chrysler he was a coal miner for 10 years.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years: Polly Ann Hagey; his daughter: Deborah Ann Stacy (David) of Rising Sun, MD; and his sister: Elozina Shopshire of Pocahontas, VA.
